Flowline Alaska’s operations are centrally located
in Fairbanks, Alaska allowing for quick receipt and
delivery of materials via air, rail, or truck. We have
three enclosed fabrication facilities, a satellite facility
with offices, approximately 42 acres of land for material
handling and staging and are located immediately adjacent
to two rail spurs.
Main Production Facility
The main production facility is roughly 46,000 square
feet of shop floor space. Approximately half of this
facility is dedicated to pipe insulation and FBE coating
with the balance dedicated to pipe spool fabrication
and bend/fitting blast cleaning and corrosion coating
application.
The main plant is equipped with both mobile and fixed
production equipment that is designed to support the
unique automated processes of Flowline’s polyurethane
insulation or FBE coating application systems.
The fabrication area of the facility has the ability
to support 8 welding stations, equipped with rotating
positioners and a state-of-the-art welding fume extraction
system.
The hand applied coating booth, hand blast booth and
pipe fitting pre-heating ovens are centrally located
within our facility to support either the insulation/FBE
coating or fabrication production processes.
Double Joint Facility
Flowline operates an 11,000 square foot dedicated double
joint facility. This building is heated and supported
by hydraulically operated pipe alignment and turning
equipment. Plant layout has been optimized so final
stationing of the pipe allows for inspection and NDE
examination of welds prior to the pipe exiting the double
joint production building.
Bend INSULATION Production Facility
This 5,000 square foot facility sits immediately adjacent
to the main engineering, management offices and laboratory.
Specially designed fixtures allow for the insulation
of induction bends (3D, 5D and 20D). After bends are
insulated they are transported a short distance across
the yard to the main production facility fabrication
area for cross country spool welding.
Satellite Facility & Offices
Flowline has a 3,500 square foot fabrication building
that is supported by an exterior 50’ x 150’
heated concrete slab and 1,000 square foot office space.
This satellite complex is used for larger structural/mechanical
fabrication projects and allows owner representatives
and inspection personnel temporary project office space
that includes both phone and internet accommodations.
Laboratory
Flowline has a fully outfitted quality control laboratory
that supports our comprehensive quality assurance program.
Two full-time personnel monitor all aspects of FBE and
liquid coatings as well as the application of our urethane
insulation system. All details of the application of
insulation and coatings as well as the inspections are
documented according to our Quality Assurance manuals.
Yard Space
Flowline maintains 42 acres of land that is leased from
the Alaska Railroad in the Railroad Industrial Area.
We are uniquely located near downtown Fairbanks, within
one road mile of the Johansen Expressway. Our location
provides easy access to the statewide highway system
as well as 1,500 lineal feet of rail spurs to facilitate
the receipt and shipment of materials. Our real estate
footprint also allows us to provide centrally located
staging and storage for our clients.
