lowline Alaska is equipped to provide both pipe and structural steel
fabrication for a variety of applications. A large majority of the
fabrication work we produce includes pipe spooling, pipe double jointing,
and associated piping supports and structural steel assemblies common to
the piping industry. We have provided pipe fabrications from 3/4" diameter
to 60" diameters in a variety of wall thicknesses up to 2". Flowline utilizes a number of welding processes and equipment, for both
manual and state of the art semi-automatic welding, that can be applied to
the welding of carbon steels, corrosion resistant alloys and high density
polyethylene materials. All fabrication work is conducted by qualified
welders working to welding procedures that have been qualified to ASME, API
and AWS Code requirements. We employ certified welding inspectors and a
third party NDE Inspection company with the capabilities of VT (visual), RT
(Radiographic), UT (Ultrasonic), PT (Penetrant), and MT (Mag particle)
processes to monitor and document the quality of work performed.
Flowline staffs a full time autocad and materials departments. The autocad
department is responsible for producing pipe spool drawings from master
piping sheets into manageable truckable pieces while minimizing field
fit-up. The materials department is responsible for all incoming pipe
spool materials from various vendors and customers which include tracking
material certifications, shortages and excess materials for individual
projects and working closely with clients purchasing departments.
Flowline Alaska's additional capabilities compliment the welding operation
with the ability to provide polyurethane foam insulation, corrosion
coatings (internal and external), and concrete coating of completed welding
fabrications.
Welding processes currently used by Flowline:
- SMAW (Shielded Metal Arc Welding)
- FCAW (Flux Core Arc Welding)
- GTAW (Gas Tungsten Arc Welding)
- GMAW (Gas Metal Arc Welding)
- SAW (Submerged Arc Welding)
- GMAW/STT (Gas Metal Arc Welding Surface Tension Transfer)
- HDPE Butt Fusion (High Density Polyethylene Butt Fusion)
